SCHAUMBURG, Ill., Sept. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- As the digital publishing market
continues to grow, five organizations involved in developing mobile
applications and e-reading devices recently joined the Audit Bureau of
Circulations. The five new ABC members are:

-- Bite Sized Candy -- creator of Handstand, a new, soon-to-launch
proprietary technology that adapts magazines for digital consumption
on
the iPhone and iPod Touch with distribution via iTunes.
-- Pixel Mags -- a developer dedicated to bringing magazines and
newspapers
to the iPhone and iPod Touch.
-- Plastic Logic -- creator of the Plastic Logic Reader for mobile
business
professionals, scheduled to debut in early 2010.
-- ScrollMotion -- creators of the Iceberg Reader and a leading developer
        of original iPhone applications.

-- Sony Electronics -- creator of the Sony Reader line of digital
readers.

These firms join other ABC members involved in digital publishing, including
Amazon.com, Texterity Inc. and Zinio.

"The mobile market is a burgeoning space in which ABC member organizations are
actively engaged," said Michael J. Lavery, ABC president and managing
director. "Advertisers are funding mobile marketing initiatives to take
advantage of the platform's immediacy, engaged audiences and location-based
targeting potential," he noted. "And we're seeing more activity from
newspapers and magazines as they integrate mobile into their digital
publishing plans. This includes numerous inquiries about the auditing and
reporting requirements surrounding e-readers and smartphones, and about
counting mobile editions as paid circulation. It's an exciting time to be
involved in this space, and we welcome our newest members to ABC."
