EMMAUS, Pa.--(Business Wire)--
Rodale Inc., publisher of Men`s Health and Women`s Health magazines, announced
today that it would publish Children`s Health, a special newsstand issue on sale
September 15. The magazine features an exclusive cover shoot and interview with
First Lady Michelle Obama.

"Children`s Health is the natural extension of the Men`s Health and Women`s
Health brands," says Maria Rodale, Chief Executive Officer, Rodale. "Our company
has helped millions of men and women take better care of their minds and bodies;
now we`re helping them take better care of their children`s health as well."

"Given the growing obesity crisis among children in America, there`s a real need
for authoritative health and fitness advice that helps parents stay fit, and get
their kids started toward a healthier lifestyle right from birth," says David
Zinczenko, Editor-in-Chief of Men`s Health and Editorial Director of Women`s
Health and Children`s Health.

The magazine, which will be available on newsstands for $5.99 beginning
September 15 with an initial print run of 750,000, is the result of a
first-of-its-kind partnership between the editors of Men`s Health and Women`s
Health, under the guidance of former Best Life Editor Stephen Perrine, along
with Executive Editors Lisa Bain and Bill Phillips. There will also be an
exclusive interview with Mrs. Obama in the October issue of Women`s Health, and
President Barack Obama will appear on the cover of the October issue of Men`s
Health, the subject of an exclusive profile inside. Also, Mrs. Obama will appear
on the cover of the November issue of Prevention, with an exclusive profile
inside. In addition to its revealing interview with the First Lady (who shares
her secrets for keeping her family fit and healthy), Children`s Health provides
health, nutrition and educational guidance for parents of babies, toddlers and
beyond. Highlights include:

* Dr. Mehmet Oz`s five most critical health tips for new parents
* Advice on inspiring children to read from popular children`s author (and
National Ambassador for Young People`s Literature) Jon Scieszka
* A first look at the upcoming Rodale book The New American Diet, which presents
tips on protecting young children from obesity-causing chemicals in the
environment
* An authoritative comparison of all the top diaper brands-tried and tested at
Rodale`s own company day care center, near its home office of Emmaus,
Pennsylvania

Sponsors of the issue include General Mills, P&G, Ralph Lauren and Vtech. With
the publication of this issue, Rodale will be making a donation to various
charities that support children's health including Give the Kids the World and
Save the Children.

"It`s never been harder for parents to get authoritative answers to their
children`s health issues," said Ms. Rodale. "Children and their health are key
strategic areas for Rodale going forward and this special issue of Children`s
Health is an important step in educating and empowering parents with the health
information they need to make the best decisions for their families."

Zinczenko credits the Obama family`s engagement with Rodale to the company`s
commitment to improving national health care-one reader at a time. "Our readers
represent the best hope for improving our health care system and controlling our
spiraling costs," Zinczenko said. "They belong to the most engaged health
constituency on the planet-an army of millions taking personal responsibility
for much of their own health."
