Chile's LAN Aug passenger traffic up 4.4 pct

SANTIAGO, Sept 8 (Reuters) - Chile's LAN LAN.SN (LFL.N), one of the biggest air carriers in Latin America, said on Tuesday its passenger traffic rose 4.4 percent in August compared with the same month a year earlier.
Cargo traffic fell 4.2 percent in the same period.
International passenger traffic rose 2.1 percent during the month from a year ago.
Domestic passenger traffic in Argentina, Chile, Ecuador and Peru, rose 10.2 percent.
LAN accounts for more than one half of Chile's international passenger traffic and nearly three quarters of its domestic traffic.
