McDonald's(R) Offers Busy Commuters a Free Ride and 75,000 Free Angus Third
Pounders Throughout September
OAK BROOK, Ill., Sept. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Commuters riding some of the nation's
busiest public transit systems will get more than they bargained for courtesy
of McDonald's -- a free ride and a coupon for a free Angus Third Pounder
premium burger.
Beginning September 13 and running throughout the month of September,
McDonald's will offer commuters in Atlanta, Baltimore, Chicago, Dallas,
Denver, and Washington, D.C. a free transit pass and a coupon for a free Angus
Third Pounder while supplies last. Details will be made public the day of or
before each "Try Free, Ride Free" event. That information will be unveiled
exclusively on www.mcdepk.com/TryFreeRideFree.

In addition to the six cities participating in "Try Free, Ride Free," several
other communities throughout the United States are reaching busy commuters
through various on-the-street promotions, with the chance to win one-of-a-kind
apparel and coupons for free Angus Third Pounders.
A few of the areas supporting "Try Free, Ride Free" include:
-- In San Francisco, street teams along the BART transit system will
issue
Angus Third Pounder giveaways in the high-traffic financial district.
-- In Pittsburgh, commuters on transit buses will be asked trivia
questions
about McDonald's for a chance to win coupons for free Angus Third
Pounders.
-- Cities throughout the Northwest will promote the program during
college
football games, encouraging fans to call in during the third quarter
of
big games to predict the final score in hopes of winning free Angus
Third Pounders and merchandise.
-- In Central Missouri, radio DJs will ask listeners to submit pictures
of
themselves eating an Angus Third Pounder on public transportation in
exchange for fun, premium items.
The new Angus Third Pounders are McDonald's first new burger introductions
since the Big N' Tasty((R)) in 2001.
Each Angus Third Pounder is made with 100-percent premium quality Angus beef
(weight before cooking at least 5.33 oz; 151.1 grams) and fresh, savory
ingredients on a toasted bakery-style sesame seed roll.
-- Deluxe: Topped with creamy mayonnaise, yellow mustard, a thick slice
of
ripe red tomato, green leaf lettuce, rings of red onions, sliced dill
pickles and slices of American cheese.
-- Bacon & Cheese: Topped with zesty ketchup, yellow mustard, rings of
red onions, sliced dill pickles, three full slices of bacon and slices
of American cheese.
-- Mushroom & Swiss: Topped with creamy mayonnaise, sauteed mushrooms
and slices of natural Swiss cheese.
