The Philadelphia Bar Association's Young Lawyers Division to Present 'The
People's Law School,' a Six-Week Legal Education Program; Less Than A Week
Left to Pre-Register

PHILADELPHIA, Sept. 9 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Less than a week remains for
citizens to pre-register for "The People's Law School," a six-week legal
education program for those interested in learning about areas of the law
affecting daily life. The program runs every Tuesday night, 6:15-8:30 p.m.,
from September 15 through October 20 and is presented by the Young Lawyers
Division of the Philadelphia Bar Association.

"The People's Law School" features six sessions of 11 total classes on
subjects ranging from real estate to employment law to personal injury, all
taught by volunteer attorneys. The program will be held in the Jury Assembly
Room at the Criminal Justice Center, 1301 Filbert St. The cost is $40.00 and
includes access to all seminars and the complete course materials book.

The course schedule for "The People's Law School" is as follows:

    --  September 15
        --  Social Security & Disability (6:15-7:15 p.m.)
        --  Elder Law (7:30-8:30 p.m.)
    --  September 22
        --  Small Claims & Landlord/Tenant (6:15-7:15 p.m.)
        --  Consumer Credit(7:30-8:30 p.m.)
    --  September 29
        --  Personal Injury (6:15-7:15 p.m.)
        --  Criminal Law (7:30-8:30 p.m.)
    --  October 6
        --  Real Estate (6:15-7:15 p.m.)
        --  Bankruptcy (7:30-8:30 p.m.)
    --  October 13
        --  Employment Law (6:15-7:15 p.m.)
        --  Workers' Compensation (7:30-8:30 p.m.)
    --  October 20

        --  Family Law (6:15-8:30 p.m.)


"The People's Law School" is open to all citizens. Registration and more
information is available at peopleslawschool.philadelphiabar.org, by calling
215-238-6393, or through email at pls@philabar.org. Citizens can also register
at the door but pre-registration is encouraged to ensure the immediate
availability of a course materials book.

Please note that while "The People's Law School" will provide attendees
information on different areas of the law, the program is not accredited and
no degree or certificate will be conferred upon its completion.

The mission of the Young Lawyers Division is to promote and preserve the
interests of young lawyers, improve the quality of the legal system, provide a
forum for the exchange of views among young lawyers, encourage the
professional development of young lawyers through educational and service
programs, participate in the growth and advancement of the legal profession,
and encourage young lawyers to represent deserving clients on a pro bono
basis.
