Euro extends gains vs U.S. dollar, hits $1.46

NEW YORK, Sept 9 (Reuters) - The euro extended gains versus the dollar on Wednesday, hitting $1.46 amid a broad selloff in the U.S. currency.

The euro was last down 0.7 percent at $1.4585 EUR= after briefly touching $1.46, a fresh 2009 high, according to Reuters data. (Editing by James Dalgleish)
