Euro extends gains vs dollar, rises to 2009 highs

NEW YORK, Sept 9 (Reuters) - The euro extended gains versus the U.S. dollar on Wednesday to trade at a fresh 2009 high as U.S. stock index futures pointed to a slightly higher opening on Wall Street.

The euro was last up 0.4 percent at $1.4547 EUR= after rising to as much as $1.4562, a fresh 2009 high, according to Reuters data.
