Obama open to ideas on healthcare, vows action: report
WASHINGTON |
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. President Barack Obama is open to ideas about his healthcare reform plans but intends to "get something done" about reform this year, he told ABC News, according to excerpts of an interview released on Tuesday.
In his speech to the U.S. Congress on Wednesday night, Obama said he would "make sure that Democrats and Republicans understand that I'm open to new ideas, that we're not being rigid and ideological about this thing, but we do intend to get something done this year," the ABC News transcript read.
