This festive celebration, sponsored by AT&T, Tourism Mexico, Comerica, Latino
Press and Corralejo Tequila, will be the very first time Guanajuato's famed
accidental mummies will be seen in the United States. Tickets to the event are
$125 per person or $200 per couple, and are available by calling 313.577.8400,
ext. 432.

The Accidental Mummies of Guanajuato is a 10,000 square-foot exhibition that
will open to the public on Oct. 10, 2009 in Detroit before embarking on a
limited three-year tour across the United States. Featuring 36 accidental
mummies on loan from the Museo de las Momias de Guanajuato, the exhibition
combines science, history and cultural anthropology to immerse the visitor in
the world of a Mexican city over 100 years ago where deceased residents
naturally mummified in their crypts.

Like the accidental mummies, former President of Mexico Vicente Fox came from
humble beginnings in Guanajuato, Mexico and went on to achieve international
fame. Fox is known as a visionary leader who played a vital role in Mexico's
democratization. He served as President of Mexico from 2000-2006.

"This is an incredible opportunity to enjoy the exhibition, for the first time
ever out of Mexico, and to learn about the Mexican culture and the profound
respect towards the dead," said Honorable Vicente Sanchez, Consul of Mexico in
Detroit.

"We are honored to have President Fox join us for this historic event when the
accidental mummies of Guanajuato, President Fox's home state, make their U.S.
debut here at the Detroit Science Center," said Kevin Prihod, President & CEO
of the Detroit Science Center. "These mummies have attracted millions of
visitors to Guanajuato, and it is an honor to bring the mummies to the United
States. This exhibition will present a unique look into Mexican culture,
forensic science and the very lives of these amazing mummies. It is an
experience not to be missed."

Visitors to the exhibition will meet the accidental mummies, learn about life
in their thriving community, discover the modern-day forensic technology that
helps scientists analyze them, and explore a culture that reveres and
celebrates them.
