NEW YORK, Sept 10 (Reuters) - The euro rose to session highs against the U.S. dollar on Thursday as U.S. stocks extended gains and commodity prices firmed.

The euro hit $1.4613 EUR=, a fresh 2009 high.

A U.S. trader also cited a strong 30-year auction with a 2.92 bid/cover and a high yield of 4.238 percent. [ID:nTAR000192].
