BNP Paribas Wealth Mgmt appoints new N.Asia CEO

HONG KONG, Sept 16 (Reuters) - BNP Paribas (BNPP.PA), France's biggest bank by market value, said on Wednesday that its wealth management arm had appointed Thierry Dana as its new chief executive in Hong Kong and North Asia.

U.S. and European banks have been clamouring to provide their services to rich clientele in Asia with private wealth on the rise in China, India and Indonesia.

Dana who is currently a regional manager with BNP Paribas Wealth Management overseeing its business in Switzerland, Southern Europe and Latin America, will assume his new post on Oct 1. Dana will report directly to Serge Forti, chief executive of BNP Paribas Wealth Management Asia-Pacific.

Claude Haberer, whom Dana will replace, has been appointed head of key clients, Asia with effect from October 1st. (Reporting by Parvathy Ullatil; Editing by Chris Lewis)
