Community judges have voted, the winners of the Ninth Annual Awards to receive
public recognition for their efforts




DETROIT, (September 16, 2009) - On Friday, September 18 from Noon until 2:00
p.m., the Detroit Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) will honor the
winners of the Detroit Community Development Awards - the premiere annual
event recognizing the leaders and unsung heroes of community development and
neighborhood revitalization in Detroit.  Detroit LISC serves as metro
Detroit's only comprehensive housing and community development resource that
seeks to build Sustainable Communities, transforming distressed neighborhoods
into healthy ones.

What2009 Detroit Community Development Awards - hosted by Detroit LISC

The Awards  Recognizing our community's unsung heroes and leaders hard at work
in neighborhoods across the City of Detroit.  This year's Awards honor
Community Champions, five individuals, three organizations, and the
prestigious 2009 MASCO CDC of the Year Award.
