Picarro Selected for Its Ground-Breaking Greenhouse Gas Analyzers as Runner-Up
in the Environment Category
SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(Business Wire)--
Picarro, Inc., the maker of the world's highest performance and easiest to use
gas analyzers, today announced that it has been recognized by TheWall Street
Journal with a Technology Innovation Award. TheWall Street Journal selected
Picarro as the runner-up in the Environment category for its innovative line of
trace gas and stable isotope instruments for greenhouse gas monitoring,
industrial emissions measurements and point of origin analysis.

Backed by Picarro's proven wavelength-scanned cavity ring down spectroscopy
(WS-CRDS) technology, Picarro's analyzers provide the technological breakthrough
that finally delivers on all aspects for measuring the impact of greenhouse
gases (GHGs) on climate change, arguably the single biggest issue facing mankind
today. Picarro GHG analyzers provide the simplicity, precision and measurement
portability that has been lacking in previous technologies - instruments many
more times expensive to run and substantially larger. Because of the unique
attributes of WS-CRDS, Picarro analyzers can measure absolute concentrations
continuously, even in the remotest locations. Models are available that measure
one or all of the three primary greenhouse culprits, carbon dioxide (CO2),
methane (CH4) and water vapor (H2O).

"This year, we received nearly 500 entries, with only about seven percent
receiving an award. Needless to say, the competition was extremely intense,"
said John M. Leger, news editor for TheWall Street Journal.

TheWall Street Journal Innovation Awards focus on the overall innovation of
products, services or inventions which are technological breakthroughs in such
areas as medicine, software, the Internet, wireless and consumer electronics.
TheWall Street Journal seeks innovations that break with conventional processes
and go beyond marginal improvements.

"Being recognized as a technology innovator by TheWall Street Journal is a true
honor and is further testament of Picarro`s commitment to developing
simple-to-use, high-precision analyzers to support critical climate and
ecological research -- whether in the lab or in the field," said Michael Woelk,
CEO of Picarro, Inc. "We are extremely pleased with this recognition and
attribute our continued success to our product quality and employee dedication."
