Turk competition board starts probe on Dogan Yayin

ISTANBUL, Sept 18 (Reuters) - Turkey's Competition Board launched a probe on Dogan Yayin (DYHOL.IS), its units Hurriyet Gazetecilik (HURGZ.IS) and its English language newspaper Dogan Daily News about advertisement sales, Dogan Yayin said in a filing with the stock exchange on Friday.

The government imposed a record $2.5 billion tax fine on Dogan Yayin last week, raising concern among critics that the government is seeking to choke off Dogan Yayin for hostile coverage including corruption allegations. (Reporting by Selcuk Gokoluk)
