NATO: U.S. missile decision will not weaken allies
BRUSSELS |
BRUSSELS (Reuters) - NATO said on Friday Washington's decision to scrap a missile defense plan for Europe would not weaken the defenses of any ally.
"There is no reason to fear that these plans will weaken the defense of any ally," NATO Secretary-General Anders Fogh Rasmussen said. "On the contrary, the new plans will make capabilities ready sooner than the previous plans and will provide us with broader coverage."
