Secretaries of Agriculture, Education to Launch Joint Farm to School Program

Department of Agriculture acting Secretary Russell Redding and Education
Secretary Gerald L. Zahorchak will hold a news conference at 10 a.m. on
Tuesday, Sept. 22, at Great Valley School District in Malvern, Chester County,
to announce a joint partnership to encourage schools to plant sustainable
gardens. 

The Farm to School program connects schools and local farms with the
objectives of serving healthy meals in school cafeterias, improving student
nutrition, providing agriculture, health and nutrition education
opportunities, and supporting local and regional farmers.
