For ten years private-pay physical therapy in Minnesota has been preventing
seniors from falling through the gaps in the healthcare system

BLOOMINGTON, Minn., Sept. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Senior Abilities Unlimited, LLC,
based exclusively in the Twin Cities of Minnesota, celebrates its tenth year
anniversary during the month of September. Since 1999, seniors, after
realizing that the Medicare system doesn't facilitate preventative measures,
have been taking the issue of fall prevention into their own hands. They've
been paying for the company's Tandem Strength and Balance(R) service to be
performed in their home so that their strength and balance is at a level that
keeps them independent with a lower risk of falling.

Traditionally, physical therapy focuses on rehabilitation, but in 1999 the
company's founder Nicole Rennie, PT, GCS(1), implemented an innovative
philosophy whereby it's used for preventative measures. This pioneering
approach requires physical therapy to be performed regularly, and on a
long-term basis, to regain and sustain the strength and balance needed for
seniors to remain in the place they want to call home.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports that in 2000, the total
direct cost of all fall injuries for people 65 and older exceeded $19 billion
and is expected to reach $54.9 billion by 2020(2). Senior Abilities Unlimited
predicts that even the proposed Health Reforms will not improve this figure,
unless a greater emphasis is placed on preventative strategies. At an
individual level, the costs of a senior falling are more personal: increased
care expenses, unwanted relocation costs and distress, psychological impact,
loss of confidence, and burden on family members.

"In fact, the cost of receiving our service can save money," said Ms. Rennie.
"A senior that is independent requires less professional assistance to remain
safely in their home. Along with the fact that they have a greater quality of
life, it makes providing this service very rewarding."

When private-pay physical therapy is provided by a specialist company, it
allows for levels of service that are not normally associated with
professional healthcare: money-back guarantee, private online video clips of
progression, reports sent to family members and an assigned physical therapist
to each patient.

Senior Abilities Unlimited is expecting continued growth due to the
anticipation of the older population increasing during the next ten years.
