MEXICO CITY | Wed Sep 23, 2009 9:42am EDT

MEXICO CITY (Reuters) - Shares of Mexico's Cemex (CMXCPO.MX) dropped more than 3 percent in first trades on Wednesday after the world's No. 3 cement maker listed shares from a global offering.

Its shares partially recovered shortly after the open to 17.15 pesos, or 0.41 percent lower than Tuesday's close.

Cemex sealed a $1.8 billion share offer on strong demand late on Tuesday in a sign of investor optimism in the debt-laden company's recovery.
