PITTSBURGH (Reuters) - A small plane flew into restricted airspace over the Group of 20 summit in Pittsburgh on Friday and was escorted to a nearby airport by two F-15 fighter jets, officials said.

Lieutenant Colonel Andy Roake, a spokesman for the G20 joint information center, said the small aircraft was escorted to nearby Wheeling Ohio County Airport in Wheeling, West Virginia, where authorities were investigating the incident.

Summit organizers put flight restrictions in place over downtown Pittsburgh where leaders of the world's richest nations and emerging powers are meeting to discuss global economic issues.
