Indian shares provisionally end down 0.6 pct

BANGALORE, Sept 25 (Reuters) - Indian shares provisionally closed 0.64 percent lower on Friday, weighed down by lender ICICI Bank (ICBK.BO) and as cautious investors cut positions ahead of a truncated week, analysts said. Financial markets will be closed on Monday and Friday next week for public holidays.

The 30-share BSE index provisionally ended 107.51 points lower at 16,673.92, with 21 stocks falling.

The 50-share NSE index .NSEI provisionally also closed down 0.64 percent at 4,954.85. (Reporting by Sumeet Chatterjee; Editing by John Mair)
