Obama to demand international inspection of Iran plant
PITTSBURGH |
PITTSBURGH (Reuters) - U.S. President Barack Obama, British Prime Minister Gordon Brown and French President Nicolas Sarkozy on Friday will demand Iran allow immediate international inspection of its covert nuclear plant, a White House source said.
The official said the still-incomplete facility was believed designed for about 3,000 centrifuges used for enriching uranium. Obama decided to go public with the accusation after Iran learned that Western intelligence agencies had discovered the plant's existence, the official said.
