BEIJING, Sept 28 (Reuters) - China Unicom (0762.HK), the country's No. 2 mobile carrier, said on Monday Apple's APPL.O popular iPhone would be sold in China from October at a retail price of 5,000 yuan ($732.5).

Eight service packages will be available for iPhones ranging from 126 yuan to 886 yuan per month, the company said in a statement.

The company will hold a press conference at 0600 GMT.

Unicom said last month it would sell Apple's iPhone in China, the world's largest mobile market with about 700 million subscribers, before the end of the year.
