Samsung Elec says may absorb Digital Imaging

SEOUL, Sept 28 (Reuters) - Samsung Electronics (005930.KS) said on Monday it was considering ways to strengthen cooperation with camera-making affiliate Samsung Digital Imaging 108070.KS, including absorbing it, but that no decision had been made yet.
Shares in Samsung Digital Imaging spiked on Monday on early market talk of an acquisition by Samsung Electronics. Samsung Electronics was responding to a request by the Korea Exchange to clarify the rumours. (Reporting by Marie-France Han and Cho Meeyoung; editing by Jacqueline Wong)
