Vimpelcom extends buyback offer by 2 weeks -source

MOSCOW, Sept 28 (Reuters) - Vimpelcom (VIP.N), Russia's second-biggest mobile phone operator, has extended an offer to buy back up to $320 million of bonds maturing in 2011 and 2013 by two weeks, a banking source said on Monday.

"There is a significant number of investors who would like to tender their bonds," the source said. The offer was originally due to expire on Sept. 25.

"A Vimpelcom spokeswoman confirmed the information provided by the banking source but declined to elaborate."

Vimpelcom announced the offer to buy back up to $320 million of 2011 RU020340789= and 2013 RU036104155= bonds out of a total of $300 million and $1 billion issued. [ID:nLL26468] (Reporting by Oksana Kobzeva; writing by Maria Kiselyova; Editing by Mike Nesbit)
