BRASILIA, Sept 30 | Wed Sep 30, 2009 9:53am EDT

BRASILIA, Sept 30 (Reuters) - Brazil's central bank chief, Henrique Meirelles, said on Wednesday he is not a candidate for public office at the moment and will focus on the central bank until March 2010.

His affiliation with the PMDB party would not influence market expectations, he said.
