Sept 30 (Reuters) - British software and services firm Misys MSY.L said its quarterly adjusted operating profit and order intake rose, boosted by growth from an acquisition.
The firm, which supplies software to the financial sector and to U.S doctors through Allscripts-Misys (MDRX.O), also said its reported revenue from continuing operations rose by 48 percent to 169 million pounds for the three months ended Aug. 31.
Misys said tangible results were seen in Allscripts, which it acquired last year, on increased demand from physicians.
The company said on a pro-forma like-for-like basis, which adjusted for Allscripts deal and currency movements, adjusted operating profit rose by more than 15 percent.
Growth in reported adjusted operating profit from continuing operations more than doubled due to the merger in healthcare with Allscripts and a continued focus on cost cuts, the company said.
Order intake rose 97 percent to 109 million pounds.
Misys' shares have gained 68 percent in the last six months, compared with a 53 percent rise in the FTSE 350 software and computer service index .FTNMX9530. They closed at 208 pence on Tuesday. (Reporting by Purwa Naveen Raman in Bangalore; Editing by Deepak Kannan)
