FACTBOX: Security developments in Afghanistan
(Reuters) - Following are security developments in Afghanistan at 1100 GMT (7 a.m. EDT) on Wednesday:
KHOST - A suicide bomber rammed a car into a military convoy of foreign troops in southeastern Khost province on Wednesday, killing one U.S. service member, Afghan and NATO officials said.
FARAH - The Afghan Interior Ministry claimed that Afghan and U.S.-led troops had killed 22 insurgents in an operation overnight in an area of western Farah province, wounding 25 and capturing 12. The Taliban could not be reached immediately for comment. Fighters usually reject Afghan government figures about insurgent casualties as propaganda.
BAMIYAN - Officials of Afghanistan's National Directorate of Security have arrested the Taliban shadow governor for central Bamiyan province, Burhanuddin, in an operation on Tuesday, the agency said. The Taliban did not immediately comment about the report.
