NEWTON, Mass.--(Business Wire)--
Rocket Software (www.rocketsoftware.com), a global developer of Enterprise
Infrastructure products, today announced that it has purchased the UniData and
UniVerse and related tools business from IBM.

Andy Youniss, President and CEO of Rocket Software said, "We are privileged to
bring the U2 employees, products, partners, and customers onto our platform. We
see this as a great opportunity to help grow the U2 product line and to expand
its global reach. The acquisition is a natural fit for us - we have deep
expertise in database management software and it strengthens our 15-year
relationship with IBM. Our goal is to make this transfer of U2 assets from IBM
to Rocket as seamless as possible for our partners and customers."

According to Business Unit Executive Susie Siegesmund, who now oversees the U2
business for Rocket, "the people with whom you have been working will continue
to be your primary contacts, and the number you call for support remains the
same. No pricing changes are planned, and - most importantly - the development
team will remain focused on the existing product delivery schedule. We`re very
excited about our plans for future growth as a Rocket brand."
