FACTBOX: Foreign aid for Indonesia quake

A 7.6 magnitude quake struck the Indonesian port city of Padang on Wednesday, killing hundreds and toppling buildings. Rescue teams were searching for scores of people trapped under debris.

Here is a brief breakdown of aid promised by foreign countries so far:

SOUTH KOREA

- To send 43-person rescue team

- $500,000 in aid

AUSTRALIA

- Five officials dispatched to Padang to assist any Australians caught up in the tragedy and assess humanitarian assistance needs

NETHERLANDS

- "We are looking into this matter of course but we are waiting for the appeals," a foreign ministry spokesman said. "We first have to know what is actually necessary on the ground."

SINGAPORE

Neighboring Singapore said it would provide $50,000 worth of emergency relief supplies, including temporary shelters, blankets and medicines. It also sent a 42-member Civil Defense Force rescue contingent.
