Freddie Mac to sell $2 billion bills on Monday

NEW YORK | Fri Oct 2, 2009 10:37am EDT

NEW YORK Oct 2 (Reuters) - Freddie Mac FRE.N FRE.P said Friday it plans to sell $2 billion of reference bills on Monday, Oct. 5.

The scheduled offerings are $1 billion of three-month bills due Jan. 4, 2010, and $1 billion of six-month bills due April 5, 2010.

Settlement is Oct. 6.

The bills will be sold over the Internet in a Dutch auction. In such uniform price auctions, successful bidders pay only the price of the lowest accepted bid rather than the actual price as in a conventional multiple-price auction.

Bids will be accepted from authorized dealers from 8:00 a.m. EDT (1200 GMT) until 9:45 a.m. (1345 GMT). (Editing by James Dalgleish)
