Oct 5 (Reuters) - Cirrus Logic Inc (CRUS.O) raised its second-quarter revenue forecast, citing stronger-than-expected demand for audio products, sending its shares up 11 percent in after-hours trade.

The company, which supplies signal processing components for audio and energy applications, now expects revenue of about $55.7 million, up from prior view of $48 million to $52 million.

Analysts on average were expecting revenue of $49.8 million, according to Thomson Reuters I/B/E/S.

Cirrus also sees gross margins at the upper end of its prior 50 percent to 52 percent forecast, it said in a statement.

Shares of the company rose 11 percent to $5.70 in after-hours trade. They closed at $5.13 Monday on Nasdaq. (Reporting by Shrutika Verma in Bangalore; Editing by Ratul Ray Chaudhuri)
