Leveraging Mainframe Resources, System Service-enables Legacy Applications
Before, During, and After Migration

BEND, Oregon--(Business Wire)--
Alchemy Solutions, Inc. (www.alchemysolutions.com), provider of legacy
modernization solutions, today announced the general availability of
NeoServices, a Windows-based system for service-enabling mainframe business
logic and integrating with modern application and web environments. Alchemy
Solutions` market-leading software preserves and extends customers` investments
in their legacy mainframe systems by enabling them to be modernized as they are
migrated by leveraging the power of .NET.

A high-performance, secure integration solution, NeoServices is the newest
member of the Alchemy Solutions family of modernize-as-you-migrate solutions
giving enterprises the ability to service-enable existing mainframe, as well as
NeoKicks-based business logic, with no code changes. These services enable a
company`s proven mainframe assets to be leveraged in new initiatives like new
portals, CRM and ERP applications, or new application development.

"Alchemy Solutions helps us rein in the cost of managing and running
mainframe-based legacy systems for our customers by migrating them to the
Windows .NET environment. Once migrated, we see tremendous value by extending
and integrating these systems using Web services," said Denis Blaine, senior
vice president at 5280 Solutions. "NeoServices is a powerful addition to the Neo
tools portfolio, and we see tremendous potential in the ability to perform this
service-enablement in a matter of minutes versus days or weeks. The ability to
quickly deliver Web services that can combine logic from both mainframe and
NeoKicks-based logic is a real game changer for our clients."

"Today`s economic conditions are driving many organizations to consider
migrating mainframe applications and data to Windows as part of a broader
modernization strategy," said Dale Vecchio, Gartner Research vice president.
"While migrating workload is a growing alternative, a tremendous amount of
agility can be gained by reusing existing mainframe applications in
service-oriented architecture. The ability to leverage proven functionality,
before and after it`s migrated, is a great way to increase the tangible benefits
from an enterprise's modernization strategy."

NeoServices does not require any new code during the creation of services that
leverage existing logic. Instead, NeoServices` approach to development uses
graphical flow modeling or "wiring" diagrams that allow the user to drag, drop
and wire together various building blocks to compose a service. The approach is
flexible so that the designer can either start with existing transactions and
build "up" to form a service that combines elements of each transaction, or
start with a specification of the desired service and design "down" to the
transactions that provide the required information.

"At Alchemy Solutions we empower organizations` move into the future by
providing modernize-as-you-migrate solutions," said Ron Langer, vice president
of sales and general manager for Alchemy Solutions. "NeoServices adds fast,
intuitive service-enablement to the modernization options we provide, increasing
value by giving our customers the ability to start modernizing even before they
perform the migration."
