"Ron Mobed is an accomplished executive who brings impressive credentials and
experience to this role," said Dunn. "He has a proven track record of building
and transforming businesses - particularly at IHS, a large-scale information
services company, where he led the transition to digital, insight-based
solutions and successfully managed a global reorganization. I am very pleased
he will join Cengage Learning to lead such a substantial and dynamic part of
our business."

"As we make this transition, I want to acknowledge Charlie Siegel's
contributions to the success of the Academic and Professional Group,"
continued Dunn. "His inspired leadership was essential to the creation of the
group in 2007, the acquisition and integration of the Houghton Mifflin College
Division into APG in 2008 and the rapid expansion of our suite of innovative,
digitally enabled products."

Mobed comes to Cengage Learning from IHS, Inc., a leading provider of
information and insight used by businesses and governments worldwide in making
strategic decisions, where he had been serving as Vice Chairman since last
year, and was Co-President and Chief Operating Officer from 2007-2008. He also
served as President and Chief Operating Officer of the IHS Energy Segment from
2004-2007, helping to lead this group's Initial Public Offering in 2005.

Prior to joining IHS, Inc., Mobed worked at Schlumberger International for
nearly 20 years, advancing through a variety of operational and management
positions in Africa, Europe, and Asia. He then took on a series of senior
management roles including Global Vice President of the Information Management
business unit in the US.

Mobed has a bachelor's and master's degree in engineering from Trinity
College, University of Cambridge, as well as a master's degree with
distinction in petroleum engineering from the Imperial College, University of
London. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Directors and a non-executive
director of Argus Media.
