Data Management Excellence Award

the Upcoming Gartner MDM Summit October 5-7
FOSTER CITY, Calif., Oct. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Siperian, Inc., a leading provider
of multidomain master data management (MDM) solutions, congratulates Merck &
Co., Inc. (NYSE: MRK) for being selected as one of three finalists considered
for Gartner's second annual Master Data Management (MDM) Excellence Award.
The competition, which will be held during the Gartner Master Data Management
Summit 2009, will showcase successes and best practices in MDM programs. A
review team from the Gartner analyst community evaluated a number of MDM
initiatives and selected Merck and two other finalists based on the seven
components of Gartner's research note titled, The Seven Building Blocks of
MDM. -- a strategic framework developed by the firm to help organizations
maximize the probability of success. The Seven Building Blocks of MDM areas
include vision, strategy, metrics, governance, organization, processes, and
technology infrastructure.
Each finalist will be asked to present their MDM use case to conference
participants at the Gartner Master Data Management Summit, which will take
place from October 5-7, 2009 in Los Angeles. The winning company, who will be
announced at the conference on October 7th, is determined by attendee feedback
and based on a criterion that demonstrates the best example of MDM excellence.
This will be the second MDM Excellence Award to be presented. During the 2008
Gartner Master Data Management Summit, the inaugural Award was presented to
Johnson & Johnson Health Care Systems. JJHCS, which leverages Siperian MDM
Hub, relies on their MDM initiative to enable the end-to-end experience for
their commercial customers from product supply and contract management to
order and revenue management.
