Ted Harrison Celebrates Four Decades as a Canadian Artist With Major Donations and First-Ever Biography

  VICTORIA, BRITISH COLUMBIA, Oct 05 (MARKET WIRE) -- 
Known for his extraordinary paintings depicting Canada's north, artist
Ted Harrison, O.C., R.C.A. has donated close to $500,000 in paintings to
various institutions, with a special bequest to The Canadiana Fund in
honour of the people of Canada. 

    These gifts, special exhibitions in Toronto, Victoria, Edmonton and
Vancouver, and the release of his illustrated biography Ted Harrison:
Painting Paradise, by Katherine Gibson, are part of the 40th anniversary
celebrations surrounding his first Canadian exhibition. 

    Acclaimed worldwide, Harrison is considered one of Canada's most
influential and celebrated artists. Now 83, he is best known for his
vivid imagery of northern Canada, but he has also produced many other
works including the first illustrated book of our national anthem O
Canada.
