Consumer Cellular Survey Shows Price is Leading Factor in Cellular Purchase Decisions in Struggling Economy

Customer Survey Indicates Those Age 50+ Seek Cell Phone Simplicity

phones and services, recently surveyed its customers and found 84 percent noted
the price of the ongoing service as very important while 63 percent cited the
price of their cell phone was very important. Additionally, the majority (54
percent) prefer easy-to-use phones as compared to phones with advanced features.

the following customer preferences in selecting a phone and service provider:

* Nearly 78 percent of respondents said they just want to be able to make and
receive calls from their cell phones. 
* When purchasing new electronic devices, 54 percent cited ease-of-use as the
most important quality. 
* More than 62 percent would prefer a cell phone with easier to read, enlarged
buttons and display text.

* Respondents noted the following as very important:

* Quality of service (76 percent) 
* Coverage area (70 percent) 
* No long-term contract requirements (74 percent) 
* Simple, easy to understand pricing (72 percent)

* Respondents cited the following as not important:

* Text messaging services (66 percent) 
* The ability to access news, sports and weather from your phone (68 percent)

Survey Demographics

More than 800 Consumer Cellular customers across the U.S. responded to this
survey, of which 84 percent were older than 50 years of age.
