Microsoft Windows Users and iYogi Reveal 36 Percent Plan to Upgrade to Windows 7 on Existing PCs, Yet Significant

to upgrade to Windows 7 on their existing PC. However, 68 percent are not
entirely comfortable that they will be able to easily move their favorite

favorite applications over to the Windows 7 environment.
These facts are among the results of a poll of more than 500 consumers
regarding adoption and application plans and predictions around the
upcoming launch of the new Microsoft Windows 7 operating system.
Upgrade plans look healthy, with 28 percent expecting to move to Windows 7
this year alone. When asked what one word describes how they feel about
the upcoming launch, 31 percent said "excited."
"We are very encouraged by the growing anticipation of the Windows 7
operating system, and from what we've seen it represents a significant
improvement in the user interface and manageability for users," said

Additional survey findings reveal:

applications over to Windows 7 will discourage them from moving

-- More current Windows Vista users (35 percent) are excited about
the upcoming Windows launch than Windows XP users (29 percent)
