Consultants recognizes National Business Women's Week
LOUISVILLE, Ky.--(Business Wire)--
The business landscape across the nation is evolving, and increasingly, it is
showing its feminine side. In fact, according to the Center for Women's Business
Research, women-owned businesses currently account for 40 percent of all
privately held firms.

"More and more women are choosing to grab the reigns and run their own
operations," said Jania Bailey, president and COO of FranNet. "These
entrepreneurs are armed with a wealth of experience and bring a diverse skill
set to each of their particular endeavors."

Bailey is highlighting the efforts of women entrepreneurs in honor of National
Business Women's Week, which begins on October 19. The awareness campaign has
been designed to promote the achievements of professional women on the local,
state and national level.

"Women are making their presence known and are making it a point to level the
playing field in the business community," added Bailey. "They have laid a solid
foundation on which other women can build success."

For those aspiring female entrepreneurs, Bailey offers the following tips for a
successful business start-up:

* Find a Business that Suits You: Business models come in many forms, so it is
important that you find a structure that fits your objectives. Take the time
initially to determine the right business model for you and find a business that
matches that model.
* Be Prepared with Adequate Funds: The reason many businesses fail early on is
because they weren't financially capitalized with enough money to compensate for
the slow start many companies tend to endure. Be prepared to find clever,
thrifty ways to provide your products or services while your company works on
getting off the ground.
* Network, Network, Network: Networking is the key to successfully promoting
your business and opening strategic doors. Start viewing people in your
community as potential vendors, partners or investors. Remember that the
ultimate goal is to make connections with people who will serve as ambassadors
for your business.
