CHICAGO--(Business Wire)-- Tennant Company (NYSE: TNC) and Kaivac, Inc., today announced they are in joint development to incorporate Tennant`s patent-pending ec-H2O (electrically converted water) technology into spray-and-vac, or No-Touch Cleaning, systems for restrooms. Since ec-H2O is a technology that transforms water into a powerful cleaner, the new system will enable customers to sanitize even heavily soiled restrooms without the use of potentially dangerous chemicals. This approach is not only safer but also cost-effective. "This extension of ec-H2O into No-Touch Cleaning is consistent with our vision to continue to expand this successful technology into its many potential applications," said Tennant Company President and CEO Chris Killingstad. "Kaivac is an outstanding partner. Incorporating ec-H2O into their market-leading systems and equipment builds upon our mission to clean more of our customer`s environments in more environmentally friendly ways." "Tennant is a world leader with a reputation for innovation, and we are excited to partner with them on this important project. With this announcement, we`re working together to expand the reach of this innovative technology while making restroom cleaning more effective, productive, safer and environmentally friendly. Everybody wins; especially the customer," said Bob Robinson, founder and CEO of Kaivac, Inc. A Component of Rapid Restroom Sanitizing Program Eliminating the need for chemical injection makes ec-H2O technology a key component of Kaivac`s patent-pending Rapid Restroom Sanitizing program, which not only accelerates but also greatly simplifies machine operation and training. In fact, time studies show that the already fast No-Touch Cleaning times can now be reduced by an additional 40-50 percent while delivering outstanding cleaning results. "We`ve done the science and we`re convinced that ec-H2O technology will enable excellent results in rapid restroom sanitizing mode. The productivity gains coupled with significant chemical savings result in a compelling ROI," added Robinson.
