The iPOSS multi screen digital display system recently launched by North
West based Matrix Media Systems has made its first appearance outside of
the UK courtesy of Paxman Coolers Limited who used it as part of their
exhibition at the ECCO Conference in Berlin in September 2009.
The European CanCer Organisation (ECCO) and the European Society for
Medical Oncology (ESMO) is a collaboration between the two resulting in a
biennial multi-disciplinary congress. The conference is also an
opportunity for exhibitors to showcase the latest healthcare solutions
within the oncology field.
Paxman Coolers, based in West Yorkshire, England, embarked on their
pioneering scalp cooling treatment in the late 90s to limit and in many
cases prevent hair loss during cancer chemotherapy. The Paxman Scalp
Cooler is now widely used in hospitals and specialist cancer treatment
centres throughout Europe and other parts of the world.
Richard Paxman, Operations Director at Paxman Coolers explained his
decision to endorse the iPOSS, "Over the years there have been many
clinical trials undertaken and studies published to determine the
efficacy of our product and its worldwide acceptance by hospitals and
leading cancer treatment centres reinforces our belief in striving to
ensure that all patients going through the traumatic experience of having
cancer are given the opportunity to receive this treatment. We therefore
place the utmost importance on informing as many oncology specialists and
clinical decision makers of the benefits of the scalp cooler. The iPOSS
conveys demonstrably the way scalp cooling treatment works through the
impact of imagery and video and supported by data. This system enables us
to present our company and its innovation to great effect, aiding our
mission to extend the availability of our technology around the world."
