OTTAWA, ONTARIO, Oct 05 (MARKET WIRE) --
The Canadian Tourism Human Resource Council, in partnership with the
Conseil quebecois des ressources humaines en tourisme, has announced the
program for the eighth Annual Tourism HR Forum. Taking place at
Montreal's Delta Centre-Ville from November 23rd to 25th, the Forum will
address critical human resource issues currently facing the tourism
sector, with a particular focus on recruitment, retention, and staff
development in these challenging times. Registration and the full program
are available now at cthrc.ca.
The HR Forum has become a key event for anyone involved in managing and
developing people for the tourism sector - executives, managers,
corporate trainers, educators, and association representatives. Titled On
Your Mark! Get Set! Change!, this year's event provides a venue to hear
about the sector's challenges, and to discover practical, relevant
solutions and ideas. Featured speakers will examine issues from three
perspectives - Quebec, Canada, and the world. The program reflects the
unique collaboration of the Quebec and Canadian tourism HR organizations
in bringing together their annual HR conferences.
"Raising the standard for human resource practices is critical to
ensuring that we attract top employees, and that our guests enjoy the
best stay possible," says Lissa-Maria Pietracupa, CHRP, Vice President
People & Culture of Coast Hotels & Resorts. "By sharing innovative
programs and successful procedures and processes, we will be better
equipped to engender a sense of pride amongst our people, leading to
higher job satisfaction, increased retention, and quality service."
Last year's Forum attracted 200 delegates from across Canada to discuss
progressive, relevant topics, and to showcase best practices in human
resource development. The continued growth in attendance illustrates a
greater realization of the importance of strong HR practices to combating
labour shortages and retention challenges.
