 BRUSSELS- European Union agriculture ministers hold an
extraordinary meeting to discuss French proposals for
intervention to tackle a crisis in the dairy sector. France,
where farmers began a milk strike in protest against low prices,
has put forward proposals together with Germany that include
temporary measures like an increase in export refunds for
butter, milk powder and cheese.
