Oct 5 (Reuters) - The following bids, mergers, acquisitions and disposals involving European, U.S. and Asian companies were reported by 2000 GMT on Monday.

** Norwegian Telenor (TEL.OL) and Russian Alfa Group have agreed to merge their Russian and Ukrainian holdings into a $23 billion New York-listed telecom firm, ending one of Russia's longest corporate wars.

** Australia has given foreign-investment approval for Eldorado Gold Corp's (ELD.TO) A$1.58 billion ($1.36 billion) buy-out of Australia-listed Sino Gold Mining Ltd SGX.AX, Sino Gold said. [ID:nSYD483232]
** The parent group of South Korea's Daewoo Engineering & Construction Co Ltd (047040.KS) has shortlisted four unidentified bidders for the builder from about 10 preliminary bidders, in a deal estimated at about $2.6 billion. [ID:nSEO41687]
** TransAlta Corp (TA.TO) said that green-power producer Canadian Hydro Developers Inc KHD.TO has accepted a C$1.6 billion ($1.5 billion) revised acquisition offer, ending a three-month takeover battle. [ID:nN05375014]
** A U.S.-led group that includes former Ford Motor Co (F.N) director Michael Dingman is in talks to acquire the automaker's money-losing Volvo brand, a source familiar with the matter said. [ID:nN05353680]
** IBM (IBM.N) said it signed an agreement to buy the core operating assets of Bank of America Corp's (BAC.N) mortgage servicing unit Wilshire Credit Corp. [ID:nN05380490]
** Prudential Financial Inc (PRU.N) may sell its investment and fund management businesses in South Korea, a deal which could fetch about $850 million and could trigger a wave of consolidation in the country's brokerage and asset management sectors, where more than 100 companies compete. ** Belgian supermarket group Delhaize (DELB.BR) (DEG.N) said that it agreed to buy a "substantial majority" of bankrupt U.S. supermarket chain BI-Lo LLC's [LONESB.UL] assets for $425 million in cash. [ID:nBNG215594]
** Dutch supermarkets group Super de Boer NV SDB.AS said grocer Sperwer had indicated it would make a 516 million euro ($754 million) bid for the company, topping a 480 million euros offer from Dutch rival Jumbo. [ID:nL561160]
** Swiss digital TV technology company The Kudelski Group KUD.VX is trying to take full ownership of OpenTV Corp OPTV.O for the second time, with a higher offer valuing the interactive TV software maker at $215 million. [ID:nN04340666]
** Minority shareholders at nationalised German property financier Hypo Real Estate HRXG.DE railed against the government's move to force them to sell their remaining stakes in the stricken bank. [ID:nL5664268]
** Indian telecom Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd [BSNL.UL] is part of a consortium that is seeking a controlling stake in Kuwaiti telecom Zain (ZAIN.KW), the chairman of the state-run firm was quoted as saying in a media report. [ID:nDEL512439]
