Chevron says drilling stopped at Piceance Basin

NEW YORK Oct 6 (Reuters) - Chevron Corp (CVX.N) has stopped drilling at its Piceance Basin in Colorado due to low U.S. gas prices, the company told Reuters on Tuesday.

Chevron had previously said that drilling at the basin had slowed.

"There is no current drilling activity [at Piceance], but the resource will still be there when natural gas markets improve," a company spokeswoman said Tuesday. (Reporting by Edward McAllister, +1 646 223 6221, edward.mcallister@thomsonreuters.com)
