NEW YORK Oct 6 (Reuters) - French media giant Vivendi (VIV.PA) SA, would like to sell its 20 percent stake in NBC Universal, but at the right price, Bloomberg reported on Tuesday, citing a person familiar with the discussions.

Vivendi is concerned it may not get the price it wants for the stake if NBC Universal is subsumed into a proposed joint venture created by cable operator Comcast Corp (CMCSA.O) and General Electric Co (GE.N), Bloomberg said citing the source.

GE owns 80 percent of NBC Universal, and under terms of an agreement dating back to 2004, would have the right of first refusal to pick up the other 20 percent should Vivendi exercise its option to sell the stake this year.

Vivendi's annual option to sell its stake runs until 2016 but last week news broke of a proposed deal between Comcast and GE which would see the Vivendi stake bought out by GE as part of a complex deal. Comcast would end up owning 51 percent of a new larger NBC Universal under the deal according to sources. (Reporting by Yinka Adegoke, editing by Leslie Gevirtz)
