BANK OF AMERICA CORP (BAC.N)
BofA Merrill Lynch Global Research has hired Doug Leggate, previously at Howard Weil, as a senior large-cap U.S. oils and refining analyst. Leggate will cover integrated oils and exploration and production companies.
MORTGAGE BANKERS ASSOCIATION
The MBA said it hired Brad Cheney, previously chief of staff in the office of Congressman Brad Sherman (D-CA), as director of legislative affairs.
CLIFFORD CHANCE
The London-based law firm named Jeremy Sandelson head of its global litigation practice. Sandelson was previously regional managing partner of Clifford Chance in the U.K. and the Middle East.
KRAMER LEVIN NAFTALIS & FRANKEL
Law firm Kramer Levin said it hired a four-person tax group from DLF Avocats for its Paris office. The group is led by Remi Dhonneur.
CLEAR THINKING GROUP
Business advisory firm Clear Thinking Group said Joseph Myers, partner and leader of the company's Credit Rights Services group, will retire at the end of the year. Dorene Robotti, managing director, will replace Myers.
KOHLBERG KRAVIS ROBERTS & CO
Private equity firm KKR said it hired Arun Sarin, a former chief executive of Vodafone Group (VOD.L), as a senior adviser in New York.
PUTNAM INVESTMENTS
Putnam Investments has appointed two senior staff to its global distribution team. Joseph Phoenix, previously responsible for Putnam's international institutional efforts in London, becomes head of global institutional management. Catherine Saunders, previously head of Putnam's North American institutional business, becomes head of the registered investment advisory business.
GUGGENHEIM PARTNERS
The financial services firm said it hired Mark Van Lith, previously co-head of media investment banking at JPMorgan Chase & Co (JPM.N), as a senior managing director in the company's New York office.
CITIGROUP INC (C.N)
The bank said it appointed Jonathan Larsen as Head of consumer banking and global cards for Asia Pacific. He was previously Country Head and Citi Country Officer for Singapore and CEO of Citibank Singapore Ltd.
NOMURA INTERNATIONAL PLC
Japanese investment bank Nomura said it appointed Peter Westaway as Chief Economist Europe, based in London. Before joining Nomura, Westaway worked at the Bank of England for 13 years.
PRUDENTIAL PLC (PRU.L)
Prudential Corp Asia said it appointed Sean Rach as Director of digital media & corporate events. He joins Prudential from OgilvyOne Hong Kong, where he was Managing Director.
AVIVA PLC (AV.L)
Aviva Investors, the global asset management business of the British insurer said it appointed Rob Watson to the new role of global product and strategic relations director. Watson joins from Janus Capital Group.
LV ASSET MANAGEMENT
The fund managing arm of Liverpool Victoria Friendly Society Ltd said it appointed Peter Nicholas as National Accounts Manager. He will be responsible for building relationships with key distribution partners in the North West, the Midlands and Northern Ireland.
IMPAX ASSET MANAGEMENT GROUP PLC
The investment manager said it named Allan McKenzie as chairman of Impax Asian Environmental Markets. He was earlier a director of Edinburgh Dragon Trust Plc.
KPMG
