SALT LAKE CITY--(Business Wire)--
Seats are filling fast for The Utah Technology Council`s (UTC) 11th annual Hall
of Fame black-tie gala with Eric Schmidt, Chairman of the Board and CEO of
Google Inc., as the keynote speaker. The event - the largest technology
gathering in Utah - will be held on Friday, October 23, 2009, at the Grand
Ballroom of the Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City.

UTC will induct Greg Butterfield, Managing Partner of SageCreek Partners, and
Peter D. Meldrum and Mark H. Skolnick, Ph.D., co-founders of Myriad Genetics,
into the UTC Hall of Fame.

"Eric`s keynote will be especially relevant for companies during these
challenging economic times," said Richard Nelson, president and CEO of UTC. "The
ballroom will be filled as Utah`s technology leaders help us celebrate the
successes of our industry, honor our Hall of Fame inductees and learn from Eric
Schmidt. This is always the highlight of every year."

The UTC Hall of Fame

The Hall of Fame event honors individuals with Utah ties who have made
significant contributions to the information technology and life science
industries through new technology, innovation and leadership. These
contributions have resulted in job growth, commercialization of technology and
increased growth and development of the nation`s technology sector and economy.
UTC invites members of Utah`s technology industries, as well as business and
community leaders, to join in honoring this year`s inductees.

Eric Schmidt, Keynote

Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin recruited Eric Schmidt from Novell,
where he led that company's strategic planning, management and technology
development as chairman and CEO. Since coming to Google in 2001, Mr. Schmidt has
focused on building the corporate infrastructure needed to maintain Google's
rapid growth as a company and on ensuring that quality remains high while
product development cycle times are kept to a minimum. Along with Larry and
Sergey, Mr. Schmidt shares responsibility for Google's day-to-day operations.
Mr. Schmidt`s Novell experience culminated a 20-year record of achievement as an
Internet strategist, entrepreneur and developer of great technologies.

In 2006, Mr. Schmidt was elected to the National Academy of Engineering, which
recognized his work on "the development of strategies for the world's most
successful Internet search engine company." Mr. Schmidt was inducted into the
American Academy of Arts and Sciences as a Fellow in 2007. He is also chairman
of the board of directors for the New America Foundation.

Greg Butterfield

Greg Butterfield is the managing partner of SageCreek Partners, a consulting
company that provides mentoring, strategy and coaching in the United States,
EMEA and Latin America to help technology companies drive critical business
results. Before founding SageCreek, he was the group president of the Altiris
and Server and Storage business units for Symantec. Mr. Butterfield joined
Symantec through the company's acquisition of Altiris in April 2007. At Altiris,
he served as chairman of the board, president and CEO. After joining Altiris in
February 2000, he guided the company to eight consecutive years of revenue
growth and profitability, overseeing growth in revenue from $3 million to more
than $250 million. Butterfield was the driving force behind eleven acquisitions,
and he successfully completed an IPO in 2002 in the face of a notable economic
downturn. The IPO was followed in August of 2003 with a successful secondary
offering.

Peter D. Meldrum

Peter D. Meldrum is co-founder of Myriad Genetics, Inc., and has served as the
president and chief executive officer of Myriad since 1992. Prior to joining
Myriad Genetics, Mr. Meldrum was president and chief executive officer of

the Pioneer Theatre Board of Trustees, chair-elect of the Ballet West Board of
Trustees and is a trustee at Westminster College. He previously served for 10
years as a member of the board of directors for the Golden Spike Chapter of the
American Red Cross.

Meldrum was selected by Scientific American as one of the Top 50 Scientific
Visionaries in the World. He was awarded the Governor's Medal for Science and
Technology in 1998 and the MountainWest Capital Network`s Entrepreneur of the
Year in 2001. In 2008, he received the Award of Distinction from the American
Federation for Aging Research and was named CEO of the Year by BioWorld Today.

Mark H. Skolnick, Ph.D.

Mark H. Skolnick, Ph.D., is co-founder, chief scientific officer and a director
of Myriad Genetics since May 1991. Dr. Skolnick and several colleagues were the
first to conceive of using restriction fragment length polymorphism technology
as genetic markers, a breakthrough that underpins the Human Genome Project.

Over the course of his distinguished career, Dr. Skolnick has received numerous
awards, including the Governor`s Medal for Science and Technology and the
American Cancer Society Distinguished Service Award both in 1995, the Katharine
Berkan Judd Award in 1996 and the Legacy of Life Award from the Deseret
Foundation`s Heart and Lung Research Foundation in 2001. In 1994, the New York
Times acknowledged him as "leader of the team that successfully identified the
gene for breast cancer."
