Italian court overturns Berlusconi immunity-agency

ROME | Wed Oct 7, 2009 12:09pm EDT

ROME Oct 7 (Reuters) - Italy's top court ruled on Wednesday that a law granting Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi immunity from prosecution violates the constitution, according to a report by Italian news agency Ansa.

That verdict from the Constitutional Court, if confirmed, could reopen trials against him and undermine his 17-month-old centre-right government.
