LAZARD LTD (LAZ.N)

Lazard hired Jeffrey Cohen, previously at UBS (UBSN.VX), as a managing director and global head of retail. Cohen, 45, is based in New York. He has worked on deals with companies including Wal-Mart, Best Buy, RadioShack and he has also advised on restructurings including Kmart and Macy's, according to Lazard.

GREENHILL & CO (GHL.N)

Greenhill said it hired Gareth Davies as a managing director in the firm's financing advisory and restructuring group in London. Davies, 37, previously worked at Close Brothers Corporate Finance.

MAN INVESTMENTS

Man Investments said John Barbo will move to the company's New York office to head its U.S. private client business. Before joining Man, Barbo was head of alternative sales and marketing for Morgan Stanley (MS.N).

VERISK ANALYTICS

Risk firm Verisk Analytics Inc (VRSK.O) has hired Perry Rotella from Moody's Corp (MCO.N) as a senior vice president and chief information officer. The company has also hired Eva Huston, previously at JPMorgan Chase & Co (JPM.N), as head of investor relations.

JP MORGAN ASSET MANAGEMENT

The asset management company, a part of JP Morgan Chase & Co, named Roger Thompson as its UK head. He has been CFO of its international business and a member of the international management committee since 2003.

CITIGROUP INC (C.N)

As part of a push by Citi's European DCM team into the market for covered bonds, the bank has hired Christof Jutten, formerly executive director of European covered bond origination and FIG origination at Goldman Sachs (GS.N).

Jutten will sit in London and report to Citi's Frankfurt-based head of covered bonds, Marcus Guddat. Jutten starts on Oct. 19.

It also hired Ciprian Nicolae to join its European credit trading desk from Deutsche Bank AG (DBKGn.DE), where he held a similar role. He joins as a vice-president and reports to Tim Gately, who runs credit trading in the region.

Citi recently lost Jason Mann to an agency broker, Amias Berman & Co. Mann was a director, trading bonds and CDS on financial institutions.[ID:nL7384366]

BAE SYSTEMS PLC (BAES.L)

Europe's biggest defense contractor said it appointed Paul Anderson as a nonexecutive director to provide additional international, strategic expertise as part of its continued business growth plan. He is currently a nonexecutive director of BHP Billiton Plc (BLT.L).

UBP ASSET MANAGEMENT

The fund-of-funds management company of Swiss private bank Union Bancaire Privee said Daniel Kelly will join the firm in New York as chief risk officer of alternative investment, a newly created position.

THREADNEEDLE

The UK fund house said it has hired Campbell Fleming as its new head of distribution, with responsibility for wholesale and institutional business as well as marketing and product development. [ID:nL8180508]

FINANCIAL SERVICES SKILLS COUNCIL

The UK-based organization said it appointed Liz Field as interim chief executive, effective Oct. 5.

RELIGARE CAPITAL MARKETS LTD

The broking and investment banking arm of Religare Enterprises Ltd (RELG.BO) said it appointed Martin Newson as CEO, Global Investment Banking. Prior to joining Religare, Newson was head of global equities at Dresdner Kleinwort.

EUROCLEAR

The settlement provider said it named Bernard Frenay as managing director and head of its finance division, effective Dec. 1.
