Axesstel Showcasing Its MV440 Wi-Fi Broadband Gateway At GetWireless' Booth At
International CTIA WIRELESS I.T. & Entertainment 2009
SAN DIEGO, Oct. 8, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Axesstel, Inc. (OTCBB:AXST), a
leader in the design and development of fixed wireless voice and broadband data
products, is showcasing its MV440 3G Gateway at GetWireless' booth (#943-G) in
the Retail Pavilion at the International CTIA WIRELESS I.T. & Entertainment(R)
2009 at the San Diego Convention Center October 6th to 9th. As announced
separately today, the MV440 has been approved to operate on the Verizon Wireless
network through the Verizon Open Development Initiative (ODI).
Clark Hickock, chief executive officer for Axesstel, stated: "We have been
working with GetWireless for one year and there is already a high-level of
interest for our advanced product line in North America. Now that our popular
Wi-Fi broadband gateway is commercially available for use on Verizon Wireless'
vast 3G mobile broadband network, our access in U.S. markets has significantly
expanded."
"The proven reliability and versatility of the MV440 in many application
environments, such as DSL replacement and Wi-Fi hotspots, offer competitive
advantages to standard wireline service. The MV440 provides dependable,
cost-effective mobile broadband router solutions for small office home offices
(SOHO), merchants, small and medium businesses (SMBs) as well as many vertical
applications. We plan to work closely with GetWireless to bring the MV440 to
market on the Verizon wireless network," Hickock added.
"We have found great success with the Axesstel MV440 in the Regional Carrier
marketplace and believe there is an excellent opportunity within the Verizon
community as well," said Brian Taney chief executive officer of GetWireless.
"The Axesstel MV440 provides a superior cellular and Wi-Fi capability so it
performs well, even in tough coverage areas. We are confident our relationship
with both Axesstel and Verizon will enable us to create a strong presence for
the MV440," added Taney.
The MV440 CDMA 1xEV-DO Rev. A Wi-Fi Gateway combines a 3G wireless wide area
networking (WWAN) modem, Wi-Fi WLAN router and a four-port Ethernet switch to
enable multiple users with high-speed broadband access to e-mail, the Internet,
data intensive files and multimedia streaming in one easy to use, plug-and-play
desktop networking device.
